We had an amazing concert! Probably the most powerful service we've had yet! What a great way to end our first U.S. half in Merrick, New York.

We've made it to New York! Just a few more days until we fly out to France.  We have a concert tonight and then we have a day tomorrow to pack all of the equipment for flight.

Reading

Last night we were in Reading, Pennsylvania.  On our way we picked up Mark Hetrick, one of our trombone players from Maryland.  I think the bus is now officially full! At the concert I met a few people who will be auditioning soon to come on the road with us next time.  It's always exciting to talk with people about life on the road and to get them inspired about doing something like this in the future.

Lima, Ohio

Brandon Encinas

Lima, Ohio has always felt like a home away from home to me.  Especially thanks to the Bruno family who has always welcomed us with open arms. Today we did not have a concert scheduled since we are traveling to Pennsylvania which takes a long time to travel to from Chicago.  We stopped in Ohio and at the very last minute the Bruno family  along with the Bronders and several others stepped up and gave us housing for the night. This is what makes Lima such a special place.  The people here are some of the most giving and selfless individuals and we always feel like we are coming back to a second home.

Chicago

Had a great concert last night in a Bulgarian church.  The pastor had actually seen the Celebrant Singers in the 90's in Bulgaria for the first time and gave his life to Christ.  Now he travels around the world with his own ministry.  A member of the church here was also a Celebrant back in 1993 and actually came to join us in our first song of the night.

This is Nikol, our violinist from Bulgaria.  She was able to give her testimony and play a violin solo during the offering.

This was one of our host families.   What a blessing to be welcomed by such a warm community.  Thank you all for blessing us with your hospitality and support. We hope to come back to Chicago soon!

Nikol and I during rehearsal before today's concert.  Nikol is an extremely talented violinist from Bulgaria who came to travel with us this summer.  She's a real gift.

We finally fixed the bus and just finished playing for mass at a church here in Kansas.  Tomorrow we will play for three more masses and then have a concert as part of a parish celebration that the community is having.

Oklahoma

Well we were supposed to play in Tulsa, Oklahoma today at a rescue mission called John 3:16.  However in Oklahoma City our bus broke down.  We've been here for about 8 hours trying to get it fixed.  We finally got the bus started but now we're low on fluids and are still waiting to hit the road.  It is now 11:21pm and we're hoping and praying that we can head out soon!

Amarillo

Brandon Encinas

Today we were in Amarillo, Texas where we had a nice concert outside in a gazebo.  The bishop actually came to see the concert as well!  This was the first concert this year where I was able to share my testimony.  The funny thing is that the host family I was placed with for the night, I think the children could really relate to what I was saying since it seems they had to go through similar struggles that I was going through at their age. All in all I would say today was a success. In about 9 hours we will be headed towards Oklahoma.  Can't wait!

Taos

Brandon Encinas

First concert of the season at this beautiful church in Taos, New Mexico.  Most of the furnishing, wood and artwork are all made by the local community members.  What an amazing concert.  Now for a seven hour drive to Amarillo, Texas.
